These pictures make things look like all is going very well here.
I wish things were going well. After this rough week with VBS, I know Romans says that we should rejoice in our sufferings. We also know that know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
The book of James says pretty much the same thing. I should consider it pure joy when I face trials of any kind. This testing develops perseverance so I can be mature in every way.
I suppose I need more maturity even though I am tired of all these trials.
I will pray as I want to be prayed for.

Cody,
The greatest growth comes to us when we realize life never is what we expect but we must realize God puts goodness in every day, in every situation...we must open our hearts and eyes to see it. Too often we settle into open disappointment with what is happening to us and around us to see the wonder of the day. And I don't mean Grand Canyon wonder. I mean the wonder of a smile, the wonder that God has you there, at this moment for a specific purpose. It may be nothing more than to break you down and understand some of His perspective on humanity. But no matter what it is, it is not outward circumstances that determine our reactions. It is how we use the examples and sufferings of Christ to affect others. I have lost so many opportunities over the years because I groused and missed the wonder. I pray you will see what affect your presence is in Houston and be grateful and have the attitude of wonder. You are a special young man in a special place. Donna Millican
