I Couldn't Resist... Exciting Face!

More Indiana Jones:

Some of the best reviews I found...
"Sitting through Steven Spielberg's slog down memory lane means waiting for surprise, waiting for delight, waiting for daylight after turgid trudges through Peruvian caves, and waiting for an abstract story to coalesce." Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal

"It's crammed full of the dash, filmmaking flair, swashbuckling magic, impossible stunts and tongue-in-cheek humor that made the series such a phenomenon of its time." William Arnold Seattle Post-Intelligencer

>I think George Lucas is simply a grown man with a preserved boy's imagination which I can't necessarily fault him for. While said to be one of Spielberg's overall best movies, it is also said that this film isn't that interesting as Spielberg's directing seems as paint by numbers.>
Expectation: "Nostalgic jamboree of excitement as the true wheels start spinning... sort of"-Cody

Indiana Jones got an average rating; a "C+" as a grade. I've had those average/good expectations for a while now. In fact, I've had more good expectations than average ones.

More Dark Knight:

"'was the most fun I've had with a character and probably will ever have.'" -MTV Website
-When MTV asks Ledger if there is anything redeeming about the character, (the Joker) Heath's response was
"Not at all. He has zero empathy. You'll just have to wait and see."

Nervous and jittery, Heath Ledger was interviewed by MTV about his role in "I'm Not There", a Bob Dylan biopic. Ledger got that role at the last second. During the interview's transition into the Dark Knight, Heath said they had finished filming that movie. It was November 12.
He was found dead Jan 22.
He took to many sleeping pills. Accident? Intentional? I don't know if anyone will ever know.

"[Aaron] Eckhart kicked off his career by playing Chad from "In the Company of Men," one of the most ruthless misogynists ever depicted on the screen." MTV website

So this Eckhart fellow is Two-Face, another villain for Batman. Quite frankly, I'm pretty stoked; excited. I've watched the three trailer each several times.

Dark Expectation: "Completely enthralling and captivating from start to finish. Heath Ledger's legacy and what is next for Two Face are questions on everyone's mind"- Cody
The Dark Knight WILL win multiple oscars.

Indiana Jones, Batman and loving on Houston kids June 11-Aug. 3?? Sounds like an exciting, eventful and challenging summer for a twenty one year old Christian college student!!

Returning Engagements

I'm back. I got back Thursday morning at like 6:15 A.M. America is ... I don't know. It's just different. A good different, I suppose. The first American product I enjoyed was some Dr. Pepper with my McDonald's breakfast. Oh, and I will shorten my movie tangent:

Iron Man was much better than I expected, Prince Caspian is next to be followed by Indiana Jones. I'm still looking forward to the Dark Knight coming out, despite the hairy July 18 weekend competition of the movie "Space Chimps." Anyway, the Joker looks to be more sane than I imagined and Indy's youthful performance gives me hope.

Much more importantly is that I leave early June for Houston Impact to intern for the VBS there that gives me the best hope. I'm really excited. Seriously. I've Been waiting for this for a while.

P.S.
I was in South America for an ENTIre semester!

Anxious Comfort

So I didn't quite dance the night away or sweep an Uruguayan lover off her feet.

But I did finish school for the semester!! That requires a victory dance around the block in Montevideo but I will settle for a casual stroll tonight. I think it will do me good to walk around outside.

All in all, this semester has been wonderful for me. I was able to learn some things in and out of school and see some AMAZING stuff here! I don't know why I ever hesitated to come here. Yeah, the school stuff is more intense but the places you go and the people you meet are priceless!

One of the places I went (or joined) was Y.M.C.A. I ended up rock climbing there with some other really cool students several nights this semester. Pictures of rock climbers aren't on here but I snapped a photo of some of us climbing the stairs in our casa.

Anyway, we went to eat dinner with some of the Uruguayan rock climbers at their place and ended up serving other people food. It was such a rewarding experience! We ate pasta after everyone else was served and conversed in what Spanish we knew. That makes my South American pleasant memory count climb to #527. Yeah. Wow.

Anyway, all my hard work has left me with great grades and a successful finish to the semester! I look forward to being home!
